Hydrocarbon Pollution in Tunisia Coasts: Evaluation and Bioremediation
نویسندگان
چکیده
We investigated the composition and spatial distribution of hydrocarbons found in Tunisian’s marine environments. Although moderate, these hydrocarbon concentrations should ideally be reduced. Then, we investigated the characterization of bacterial diversity of polluted seawater. Molecular analysis of bacterial composition associated with hydrocarbon composition analysis provided evidence that microbial composition dynamics is related to changes in substrate composition, and there is a close relationship between the proliferation of specialized species and their function in the degradation of the different fractions of oil.

Bioremediation of gasoil by indigenous bacterial strains
Petroleum refining industries produce large amounts of toxic effluents, causing environmental pollution. Iran is an oil-rich country that encounters oil pollution in its soil and water. Bioremediation of these pollutants is an appropriate solution to tackle them, compared to physical and chemical remediation methods. There are some factors that increase the rate of biodegradation; therefore, th...

The Arctic environment is very vulnerable and sensitive to hydrocarbon pollutants. Soil bioremediation is attracting interest as a promising and cost-effective clean-up and soil decontamination technology in the Arctic regions. However, remoteness, lack of appropriate infrastructure, the harsh climatic conditions in the Arctic and some physical and chemical properties of Arctic soils may reduce...
متن کاملIsolation, Identification and Evaluation of Oil Hydrocarbon Decomposing Bacteria from Contaminated Areas of Oil Fields
Microbialbiodegradation is known as an effective and harmless method to overcome environmental pollution with oil hydrocarbon. Some bacterial species were isolated from the Sarvestan oilfields (Iran, Fars province), then identified and applied for oil hydrocarbon decomposition. A carbon-free minimum medium (CFMM) containing 1% crude oil was used to isolate bacteria through incubation at 30°C in...
